Pickup and timing
Tours start with pickup at your hotel in Aswan. The road trip to Abu Simbel leaves before dawn, because the temples are about 280 km away. In the hot months, the rest of the visits are best done early in the morning or late in the afternoon.

Is it better to go to Abu Simbel by road or by plane?

What can I do in Aswan in half a day?
Philae Temple, the Unfinished Obelisk and the High Dam fit into about four hours. A felucca at sunset is the perfect end of the day.
