Legends of the Nile & Lake Nasser – Special Flight from Madrid

From€2,000

The most complete way to travel through Upper Egypt: a classic Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan followed by three nights on Lake Nasser to Abu Simbel, visiting Nubian temples that can only be reached by boat.

How the Nile and Lake Nasser fit together

The Nile cruise covers Luxor, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Aswan. Above the High Dam the river becomes Lake Nasser, where a separate, smaller fleet sails to the Nubian temples and Abu Simbel. Combining the two means changing ships at Aswan.

  • Best season: October to April.
  • Pace: days on the lake are quiet, with long stretches of sailing between temples.
  • Abu Simbel: the ship moors in front of the temples for the evening Sound and Light Show.
