We live where you are going
Ledo Tours is an Egyptian destination management company with its office in Faisal, Giza, a few kilometres from the Pyramids. We are not a booking platform reselling someone else’s trips. Our team plans every itinerary, chooses the ships and hotels, meets you at the airport and stays with you, in person or by phone, until you fly home.
Most of our travellers come from Spain and Latin America, and over the years we have learnt what they value: well-paced days, guides who explain rather than recite, good food, and a clear price with no surprises once you land.
How we plan a trip
Every journey on this site has been run many times. We know how long the queue is at the Valley of the Kings in March, which cruise ships moor in the centre of Aswan and which are a taxi ride away, and when it is worth paying extra to fly to Abu Simbel rather than drive. That knowledge is what shapes our itineraries.
- Licensed guides. Our guides are Egyptologists who studied the history they explain, and they speak Spanish or English.
- Ships and hotels we have inspected. We work with a short list of Nile ships, dahabiyas and hotels that we visit regularly.
- Real assistance. A member of our team meets you at every airport, and a 24-hour phone line connects you to someone in Egypt, not a call centre.
- Clear prices. What is included is listed on each trip, item by item, and what is not included is listed just as clearly.
The story behind our symbol
The oldest known sundial in the world is Egyptian. It is a small L-shaped piece of green stone from the reign of Thutmose III, around 1500 BC, kept today in the Egyptian Museum in Berlin. At dawn its short arm was turned towards the rising sun, and the shadow moved along five marks carved on the long arm, hour after hour.
Our symbol is that clock: the L of Ledo, with the sun above it and its shadow falling across the five hour marks, inside the circle of the sun disk, the O that closes our name. Beneath it runs the Nile. It is a reminder of what we do: plan each day of your journey hour by hour, from the moment you land until your last afternoon in Cairo.
Day tours across Egypt
Not every traveller needs a full journey. We also run 68 day tours in Cairo and Giza, Luxor, Aswan and Alexandria: half days at the pyramids, museum visits, felucca sails and evening shows, and longer days such as Luxor or Abu Simbel and back from Cairo. Each tour lists the duration, the pickup, what is and is not included, and the price per person in US dollars for every option.
Tailor-made, too
The trips on this site are starting points. If you would like an extra night in Aswan, a private guide, a dahabiya instead of a cruise ship or a few days on the Red Sea, tell us. We reply within 24 hours with a written proposal and price.
