Philae Sound and Light Show in Aswan with Hotel Pickup

The Philae sound and light show is an evening performance at Philae Temple in Aswan, where lighting, music and narration guide you through the temple complex after dark. This private outing of about two hours includes the show ticket and transfers from and back to your hotel in Aswan.

What you will see

Philae Temple is dedicated mainly to the goddess Isis and was built largely in the Ptolemaic and Roman periods. When the Aswan dams threatened to flood it, the temple was dismantled and rebuilt on nearby Agilkia Island as part of the UNESCO Nubian rescue campaign, so it still rises from the water today.

During the show, coloured lights pick out the columns, courtyards and reliefs one after another while the narration tells the legends of Isis and Osiris and the history of the island. Part of the show is experienced as you move through the temple, and part from a seated area facing the illuminated buildings. The calm of the island at night makes it feel very different from a daytime visit.
