Medinat Habu and Valley of the Queens Tour in Luxor

This is a private tour of three West Bank sites in Luxor: the temple of Medinat Habu, the village of Deir el-Medina and the Valley of the Queens. It runs from about 8 am to 2 pm, with hotel pickup and a private air-conditioned car throughout.

Many visitors only see the Valley of the Kings, so a Medinat Habu and Valley of the Queens tour is a good way to discover another side of ancient Thebes, from a royal temple to the homes of the people who built the tombs.

What you will see

• Medinat Habu – the mortuary temple of Ramesses III, known for its huge pylons and deeply carved wall scenes.
• Deir el-Medina – the village where the craftsmen who cut and decorated the royal tombs lived with their families, along with some of their own small painted tombs.
• Valley of the Queens – the burial ground of royal wives and princes of the New Kingdom, with colourful wall paintings in the tombs open on the day.

Good to know

You pick the option that suits you: car with driver only, car and guide, car with guide and entry tickets, or the full option that adds lunch. Bottled water is provided in the car. The tomb of Nefertari in the Valley of the Queens needs its own separate ticket, which is not part of the standard entry tickets.

Wear comfortable shoes and bring a hat and sunscreen, as all three sites are open-air and the West Bank gets hot by late morning. Tips and personal extras are not included.
