This Edfu and Kom Ombo day trip from Luxor drives you south along the Nile to two temples usually seen from a cruise boat. The private tour lasts about 8 hours, with an early pickup from your hotel and a private air-conditioned vehicle.
It is a good option if you are staying in Luxor without a Nile cruise but still want to see the temples between Luxor and Aswan. Guides are available in English, Spanish and German.
What you will see
- Temple of Horus at Edfu – a Ptolemaic temple dedicated to the falcon god Horus and one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, with its towering pylon and enclosed sanctuary still intact.
- Temple of Kom Ombo – an unusual double temple on the riverbank, with one half dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the other to Haroeris, a form of Horus.
