Karnak Sound and Light Show in Luxor

The Karnak sound and light show is an evening performance inside Karnak Temple in Luxor, where lights, music and narration bring the history of the temple to life. This private outing lasts about two hours, starting from 7:15 pm, and includes hotel pickup, the entry ticket and an English-speaking assistant.

What you will see

The show leads you through parts of the temple after dark, past the avenue of ram-headed sphinxes, the great pylons and the columns of the Great Hypostyle Hall, all lit up against the night sky. The narration tells the story of Thebes and of the pharaohs who added to Karnak over many centuries, in honour of the god Amun.

The performance ends with a seated section by the Sacred Lake, where the light effects play across the temple ruins. Seeing Karnak at night is a very different experience from a daytime visit, with fewer people and cooler air.
